About me
I have spent most of my career working in the entertainment industry as a professional scenic artist. I grew up in southern Indiana, earned a bachelor's degree in set design from Indiana University and a scenic painting certification from Yale. I then went on to paint and design professionally for a year each in Massachusetts and California and for eight years in Nashville before moving to Texas in 2013.
My portfolio of scenic work includes several creative projects for professional theatre, conventions and special events, live music and music videos, feature films, commercials, and television series. I've painted dance floors, furniture, cars, cabinets, foam sculptures, fabric backdrops, brick walls, and even live animals. The creative challenges and tight deadlines made this work exciting, fun, and gratifying!
My studio shed in our Hill Country garden
After I gave birth to my daughter in 2017, I left the hectic pace of film and television in Austin to settle into a peaceful life on our family ranch in Blanco. In my garden studio, surrounded by native plants and animals, I paint softly detailed works in acrylic that honor the awe-inspiring moments that occur when we slow down and observe the natural world around us.
current
work
My current work includes contemporary pastoral landscapes in acrylic and marker inspired by my life and surroundings in the Central Texas hill country. With simple, dreamy tableaus and endearing animal portraits, I seek to honor the beauty of this rapidly transforming area.
